The Centraal Beheer office was far from any major urban centers, and the building focused inwardly, creating various interior streets. The entire project is conceived of in modules. The basic module is a 9m x 9m square, with 3m streets running along its x and y axis and a module of 3m x 3m occupying each of its four corners. Program modules ranged from coffee bars and restaurants to various configurations of offices. Additionally, a stepped elevation provided roof terraces. Due to the building’s wide footprint, the roof was heavily populated with continuous, strip skylights, and several atrium were created to distribute daylight.
